Something I should have mentioned in the podcast >>> I watched the CME podcast after the market closed yesterday. They pointed out that over the last 20 years the period from mid-February to mid-March is when oil prices increase the most. It makes sense because refiners will need more feed stock because demand for transportation fuels spikes each spring.
Also, note that the front month for WTI (March) closed very close to the high for the day ($55.87/bbl) and moved a few cents higher in after hours trading. The April NYMEX contract for WTI closed at $56.20. Go here to see the strip: https://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy ... crude.html
