Climate Change Update - August 19

Post by dan_s »

Watch the Saturday Summary here: https://www.weatherbell.com/premium/

Joe is no longer going to do daily updates, but I highly recommend that you watch his Saturday Summary each week because weather does impact oil, gas and NGL demand.

Highlights:
1. Zero hurricane activity in the World in mid-August. Notable because the Global Warming Wacko's believe that higher levels of severe hurricanes are proof of global warming. The fact is that hurricane activity this decade is fairly normal, except that the first half of this year's hurricane season has been way below normal. Not a single wave has come off Africa (so far) to produce a hurricane. Hurricane Berry was a "home grown" storm.

2. Over 60% of the world's oceans are now cooler than normal. Could be the first sign of low solar activity. The sun is now at the beginning of what some "experts" believe is a multi-decade period of low sun spot activity. Low solar means less energy reaching earth. Could it be that God is saving us from Global Warming? It depends on who you believe is in control.

3. Warmer than normal water in the Northeast Pacific Ocean (area below Alaska) usually leads to a colder than normal winter in the U.S.

4. Joe is forecasting a warmer than normal September, but a colder than normal winter. This is mildly bullish for natural gas demand, but not enough to push natural gas price back over $3.00.

5. Lower than normal Arctic Sea ice because most of the world's warmer than normal temps have been over the poles. Still very cold where Santa lives, but not as cold as normal. Don't recommend buying real estate in Greenland yet.
