EIA - Natural Gas Storage Report - Feb 27

Post by dan_s »

Working gas in storage was 2,200 Bcf as of Friday, February 21, 2020, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decrease of 143 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 637 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 179 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,021 Bcf.
At 2,200 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.

From Aegis Energy: "EIA reported a draw of -143 Bcf for the week ending 2/21/2020. This was weaker than the median estimate of -158 Bcf. Today’s stat fell within the expected range, which was -131 Bcf on the more bearish end, and -175 Bcf on the more bullish end. Prices were down in the five minutes following the announcement, to $1.722, from $1.746 just before 9:30am."

Today is just another fear based selloff thanks to COVID-19.
