Texas Update on Covid-19

Post by dan_s »

Since July 22 there has been a steep and steady decline in the number of deaths from COVID-19 in Texas.
See charts here: https://txdshs.maps.arcgis.com/apps/ops ... b9cafc8b83

Texas has a population of about 30 million people counting the illegals.
It is estimated that 250,000 to 300,000 Texans will die this year (between 0.8% and 1.0% die each year). Let's guess that 275,000 will die from all causes.
As of yesterday, 14,190 Texans have died from COVID-19.
We are 70.5% through the year, so with the death rate on steep decline it is safe to say that less than 20,000 Texans will die from COVID this year.
20,000 / 275,000 deaths = ~7.2% of all death
20,000 / 30,000,000 = 0.067% of all Texans

If you have a healthy immune system, your chances of dying from COVID-19 are extremely low, especially if you don't hang out at crowded bars.
