Will History Repeat it self with this recovery?

Post by KCHenry8 »

The following is a link to the last 10 years of oil prices: http://www.macrotrends.net/2516/wti-cru ... aily-chart
You can see the drop in oil prices in 2008 and the recovery. Look at 2010 which is two years after the drop, there was a significant drop in oil prices in May 2010! I hope history does not repeat as this is about the same time frame as the current recovery?

The 2nd half of 2010 was the best six months ever for the Sweet 16. That year the Sweet 16 started strong, pulled back in Q2 and then had a big run into year-end. The Sweet 16 finished the year up 54% with four stocks up over 100% on the year. This year is more like 2011. In 2011 the Sweet 16 started slow but finished the year up 30%.

Speculators set the oil price in the short run, but fundamentals win out in the end. IEA forecasts that refinery runs will increase by 1.9 million barrels per day more in Q2 than in Q1. If so, we will soon see a steady decline in crude oil storage levels.
