After a former IT aide to Hillary Clinton failed to show up for two congressional hearings in the last week, the House Oversight Committee voted to hold him in contempt of congress Thursday.

Bryan Pagliano set up and helped maintain Clinton's private email server during her time as secretary of state. He payed a crucial role in the matter, and was even paid by the Clinton family for his work — separate from his paycheck as a Department of State IT worker.

Pagliano was given immunity in exchange for telling the government what he knew about Clinton's email setup, but he was a no-show at an Oversight Committee hearing last week.

On Thursday, another hearing was held and he skipped that one as well. According to The Hill, that was the last straw for Republicans on the committee.

"Subpoenas are not optional," said committees chairman Jason Chaffetz, a Utah Republican. "Mr. Pagliano is a crucial fact witness in this committee's investigation of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's use of a private server to conduct government business."

Pagliano was deposed as part of a Judicial Watch lawsuit regarding Clinton's emails in June but declined to answer questions, invoking his Fifth Amendment right more than 125 times.

Congress is toothless. That's how they get away with it They declared Eric Holder, the AG of the USA in contempt of congress. So what? When they failed to convict Bill Clinton they lost any clout they may have had. We might as well be an absolute monarchy.

IMO the worst example is Lois Lerner. Using her position at the IRS like that should be an outrage for both Democrats and Republicans.

I was a Tax Manager for a public accounting firm before I got into the oil & gas industry. I saw the power of the IRS. They can ruin anyone's life if they target them. Officials at the IRS need to be punished if they abuse their authority.
