The U.S. oil rig count rose by six this week to 597, according to Baker Hughes (BHI) data published Friday.

The rig count in the Permian Basin rose by two to 303, slowing from six additions made last week.
The Eagle Ford basin added 1 oil rig for a total of 55, while the Granite Wash formation saw an increase of six to 13.

The total number of rigs, including natural gas rigs, came out to 751, an increase of 10.
