Re: PetroBakken
Dan, do you have any take on how much of PBN's production is condensate, which is drawing a premium price?

Re: Midstream MLPs
mdwitte, Northern Tier Ltd Partnership interests trade on the NYSE under the symbol NTI. It has operated as a publicly held entity since 1 Aug 2012. The first distribution, for the months of August and September 2012 was recently announced as $1.48.

Re: Midstream MLPs
I believe that NTI (refinery at St. Paul MN) has great potential. First distribution, based on 2 months operation, is $1.48 on a sub-$23 price. The driver is the Clearbrook, MN crack spread, which has been huge. I expect it to stay high for some time, due to Baaken and Canadian production rising fas...

Re: PetroBakken: Production Growth on the way
So, what is the consensus on the best way to own PBN, by owning PBG (each PBG share represents roughly $1.05 cash, 75 cents in heavy oil assets, and 1.08 shares of PBN, yet sells for less than the price of a PBN share), or by owning PBN directly? The arbitrage is attractive, but there will have to b...

Quite a divergence between their forecast of Q4 CFPS of $2.24 and yours in the May forecast. Is your thinking changing in light of the latest production info?

Re: Blue Light Special
Really tough for me not to go overboard on PBN.TO. Growing, in the Canadian Bakken and the Cardium, dividend pushing 9%, and it is available at less than 2 and one half times Cash Flow. It is not growing as fast as some of the others, but that dividend is a SWEET feature! Looks like it is on sale to...

Re: SARA
Setlif, I think management's ownership of 32% of the SARA stock pretty much assures us that they work for the best financing possible. They may have had to give up the $6.25 price to get the money they needed to expand production. They may have been wrong, but I doubt that they were thoughtless.

Re: MIND Q4
YOWZA!!! MIND comes in with FY Net Income of $2.02/sh and EBITDA of $4.88 (my calc.) per share. Basically exceeding Sweet 16 forecast by 25%. That ought to get the attention of Mr. Market.

PXD--
Anyone have thoughts on Plains Natural Resources (PXD)? They are projecting a 25% compound annual growth rate in Operating Cash Flow through 2014 and claim to have 400,000 acres of Wolf Camp shale under their Spraberry (vertical well) acreage in the Permian Basin. They just bought their own frack sa...

Petrobakken Results
Petrobakken (PBN.TO) posted Q4 and 2011 results slightly above Dan's projections of 1/13/12. PBN is currently selling at 4 times cash flow or FFO. At 4 times Dan's forecast cash flow for 2012, the price would be up 25%. Add in the 6% dividend, paid monthly, and PBN looks pretty good for 2012. Moreov...

Re: ROSE
The objection to BOE's seems overdone to me. Anyone who doesn't appreciate the difference between liquids and gas is already behind the analytical 8-ball. My own objection is less shrill--I wish companies would just report gas, NG liquids, and oil separately for ease of analysis. And even then, diff...

Re: KOG short positions
Well, the shorts will likely look good, as the price of KOG will fall on the much lower than expected earnings. Actually, ADJ EBITDA slightly beat Dan's cash flow estimates for Q4 and the year. It will likely take Mr. Market a while to pick up on the CF. Meanwhile, a buying opportunity. I have a 150...

ROSE Results.....
To my reading, it appears that the Q4 results are just what Dan forecast. I did add the $.17/share increased cost of stock compensation back into income to get there. Hope the 2012 numbers are as close to the forecast.

Re: EOG Resources
It seems to me that EOG's dominant acreage position in the oil window of the Eagle Ford may be a huge competitive advantage to them going forward, making EOG an almost unique investment opportunity. EF has no weather issues like the Bakken, has no transport issues, due to pipelines coming online in ...

Peetrobank's sale of May River
Does anyone have any thoughts on the significance of PBG's sale of the May River property to Grizzly? Are they giving up on THAI? On oil sands? If so, what does that mean for PBG stock? Where would they re-direct the income they receive from Petrobakken?

Re: EOG
Not a simpleton at all. You are looking at current results from existing operations. I am looking at the potential from EOG's ownership of more than 500,000 acres in what they claim is the "oil window" of the EF. I don't believe any company has a position that size in the best part of the ...

Re: EOG
I was very impressed with the EOG conf call where they claimed that they were getting 100% returns on the cost of the Eagle Ford wells. I took that to mean that they were recovering the cost of these wells in the first year. They claimed to be concentrating their capital expenditures in the EF. I to...

Re: PetroBank / PetroBakken
Currently, Petrobank is selling around a 20% discount to the value of its Petrobakken holdings alone, with no value assigned to its other assets, like the heavy oil business or the THAI/CAPRI technologies. Does PBG represent a value investment or a value trap? I see nothing coming that will function...

H&%$, if it meets your forecast, it will blow away the First Call expected earnings! Thanks to you, I started buying this one around $6.40/share.
Way more than paid for my subscription! It is tough to find growth stocks paying substantial dividends!
