From Grok on X: The U.S. has historically maintained a low average tariff rate (around 2-3% on a trade-weighted basis), while many trading partners impose higher tariffs on U.S. exports. Total cost of owning an EV is a bit onerous. Batteries are supposed to last 100,000 miles. Cost to replace can range from 7k to 30K depending on the vehicle. A Tesla 3 will run 12,700 to replace the batteries.
