Oil Price rallies into July 9 close
It is nice to see the price of oil rally into today's close. This may be why, although fundamentally this has nothing to do with oil supply. - Dan NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The federal official leading the Gulf oil spill cleanup said Friday a new containment cap and an additional ship collecting oil could...

Saudi Arabia
They are by far the largest oil producing country on the planet. According to the Oil and Gas Journal: Saudi Arabia contains approximately 264 billion barrels of proven oil reserves amounting to around one-fifth of proven, conventional world oil reserves. Although Saudi Arabia has around 100 major o...

Shale Plays getting lots of attention
By Adveith Nair & Krishna N. Das BANGALORE, July 8 (Reuters) - Private equity firms keen to invest in the energy sector will likely follow global oil majors into North American shale plays, eyeing the premium they can earn by disposing of the assets sooner. Given the surging prices of shale asse...

I'd like your thoughts on this concept. I believe the governments recent actions are almost like they are at war with capitalism. This idea would help the working man and woman. Fact: It takes the taxes paid by three private sector workers to pay the salary of one government worker making the same s...

Re: CRK
Comstock Resources (CRK) is a former Sweet 16 member which I dropped for 2010 since I wanted to heavily weight the portfolio to oil. We did very well on CRK in 2007 and 2008. It is a first class company. CRK is back on my Watch List so I will be completing a Company Profile on it soon. Company Profi...

Re: DNR
I plan to take a very hard look at DNR when 2nd quarter results come out. This will be our first look at the post-merger company. DNR has a great long-term plan and they have financial flexibility. I'm sure they will clarify a lot of this stuff for us in their Q2 press release and the CC that follow...

ATPG under the BP Oil Spill Cloud
Article below is from Seeking Alpha article posted July 7. The MC 941 #3 well is very important to ATPG's near-term future. My guess now is that well will not be on-line until August. This well is not under the moritorium. If it comes on at 6,000 to 8,000 bopd as expected it should give ATPG the nec...

Re: Oil Markets
OPEC has a lot more control over oil prices today. More accurately, Saudi Arabia has total control. IMO if oil dips below $70/bbl they will move to reduce supply. With the Gulf of Mexico shut down by Obama the non-OPEC supply has lost yet one more of its few areas with potential growth. That said, o...
