Since it is the largest non operator EP company would this exclude it as an acquisition target ? And will it be harder for NOG to find good deals as the oil and gas industry comes back to life ?

With the call options you will miss out on the dividend. Also if you are a US retail investor your cap gains tax will likely be higher although this may not be the case in the future with new tax law changes.
