Denbury Resources (DNR)
Denbury deserves "Core Holding" status within the Sweet-16. It is always difficult to forecast results for a company while they are still within the transition period of a major merger but DNR looks solid. - Dan 2010 Outlook Denbury’s 2010 development and exploration budget (excluding acqu...

Lucas Energy (LEI)
I'm not recommending this one at all since I have not taken a good look at it in over a year. However, they have recently closed a deal on their Eagleford Shale leases (selling most of their deep rights) that allowe the company to pay off all of its bank debt. I consider this a one time event. Bill ...

Raymond James "Energy Stat of the Week"
Below is the summary from the most recent Raymond James “Energy Stat of the Week,” as published 5/10/2010. Despite the subdued atmosphere due to the Gulf of Mexico tragedy, we came away from the single biggest oilfield conference thinking that business is better than a year ago with hopes for a stea...

I'm raising my Fair Value estimate to $21/share. > GeoResources (which will be hosting our luncheon this Friday) continues to deliver steady production growth with the mix turning more ...

Re: BEXP
Bob: I too thought BEXP was "getting ahead of itself" about six weeks ago but after seeing their 1st quarter results and the projections of steady production growth (almost all oil) I'm back to recommending BEXP. I would rate it a BUY up to $20. BEXP is much different than the other compan...

Re: TransGlobe Energy (TGA)
I've finished the new forecast for TGA and Kim will post it to our Home Page soon. TGA looks VERY STRONG. Per my model, Fair Value is now $8.13/share. IMO TGA does deserve to trade at a higher multiple because it will be drilling some high potential exploration wells later this year. TGA has a stron...

TransGlobe Energy (TGA)
I'm currently updating my TGA forecast. It will be posted to the website tomorrow. The Company made excellent progress during the first quarter of 2010. Production, funds flow from operations and net income all increased significantly over the previous quarter. The West Gharib project area continues...

Re: Kodiak Oil and Gas
"Stock Compensation" is a noncash item. It is the amortization of previously approved stock bonus plans. It was not all approved in the current quarter. Most of the companies have it and it is fairly consistent from quarter to quarter. Paying key employees with stock options is a good idea...

This has been one heck of a week for the EPG crew (basically just Kim and I). We have the expected bugs of a new website to fight through and Kim is doing an excellent job. Plus, I had another "gig" I needed to attend to up in Dallas on Thursday. While I was on the road the Market went cra...

Kodiak Oil and Gas
I finally got time to listen to KOG's 1st quarter conference call and update my forecast. Kim will be uploading the new forecast tonight. My Fair Value estimate for KOG is now up to $6.50/share. They had and excellent first quarter. They are executing on their growth plan. Had it not been for the Ma...
