Re: Kodiak Oil and Gas

"Stock Compensation" is a noncash item. It is the amortization of previously approved stock bonus plans. It was not all approved in the current quarter. Most of the companies have it and it is fairly consistent from quarter to quarter. Paying key employees with stock options is a good idea...

This has been one heck of a week for the EPG crew (basically just Kim and I). We have the expected bugs of a new website to fight through and Kim is doing an excellent job. Plus, I had another "gig" I needed to attend to up in Dallas on Thursday. While I was on the road the Market went cra...

Kodiak Oil and Gas

I finally got time to listen to KOG's 1st quarter conference call and update my forecast. Kim will be uploading the new forecast tonight. My Fair Value estimate for KOG is now up to $6.50/share. They had and excellent first quarter. They are executing on their growth plan. Had it not been for the Ma...

Re: BP Containment Dome Materials of Construction

ON THE GULF OF MEXICO – Icelike crystals encrusting a 100-ton steel-and-concrete box meant to contain oil gushing from a broken well deep in the Gulf of Mexico forced crews Saturday to back off the long-shot plan, while more than 100 miles away, blobs of tar washed up at an Alabama beach full of swi...

Re: ATPG

Actually, ATPG's 1st quarter results were better than I had forecast. I was on the road in Dallas all day today so I just had a chance to go over the ATPG report. I will listen to their conference call in the morning and update my forecast model accordingly. Everyone should have known the Q1 results...

NG Storage Report - BEARISH

Working gas in storage was 1,995 Bcf as of Friday, April 30, 2010, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 83 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 97 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 315 Bcf above the 5-year average of 1,680 Bcf. It already looks like natural gas s...

Stone Energy (SGY)

I just completed updating my forecast model for Stone Energy (SGY). The stock is trading at less than 2X cash flow per share which is ridiculous. Fair Value = $30/share Part of this is the result of the Market's selloff of all GOM producers since the BP oil spill (which BTW will soon be under contro...

Re: KOG

You bring up a good point: What is my "Fair Value" price on each Net Income and Cash Flow Forecast? It is what I believe the company would sell for if it was but on the market today. Keep in mind that you are looking at the KOG forecast based on the 4th quarter report. My "Fair Value&...
