Sweet 16 Update - August 6

Post by dan_s »

I finally got all of the company information updated on the Sweet 16 main spreadsheet that will be posted under the Sweet 16 tab by noon today.

Thanks to the "FEAR OF RECESSION" market last week, the Sweet 16 lost 13.23% and is now up 43.76% YTD. Even the gassers pulled back a bit despite HH gas price over $8.00. The S&P 500 Index actually gained 0.31%, but it is still down 13.03%.

All five of the gassers (AR, CRK, EQT, RRC and SBOW) lead the pack with stock price increases of 72.41% for RRC to 109.54% for AR. AR still trades at a 91% discount to my valuation of $70/share.

Callon Petroleum (CPE) is the only stock down YTD. They reported solid Q2 results, but not quite as good as I expected.

I will be going over the Sweet 16 on my weekly podcast that will be recorded this afternoon. Sorry for being a day late on the podcast, but my #1 task this weekend was to get all of the Sweet 16 forecast models updated.

On today's podcast I am going to highlight ESTE and SBOW.

My valuations are $37.00 for ESTE and $104.00 for SBOW. They should both be doubles for us within six months as the full impact of their recent "transformative" acquisitions will be seen in 2H 2022 results.
