Silverbow, Laredo

Post by mkarpoff »

Dan, I just read in this morning's Hart Energy newsletter that an outfit named Kimmeridge bought Laredo, and failed in negotiations to buy Silverbow, which prompted Silverbow to adopt a poison pill. What are the implications of both situations on the respective stocks? Perhaps you can speak to both managements, and let us know.

They acquired Laredo Energy, not Laredo Petroleum (LPI).

SilverBow's poison pill is to avoid a hostile takeover, which imo is a good thing.

As you can tell from my valuation, I believe SBOW has a lot more upside for us. The fact that Kimmeridge was attempting a takeover tells you that they agree with me.
Q3 result for both companies should be outstanding.

That is because Kimmeridge dumped their shares.
