Nouveau Monde Graphite (NMG) - Jan 25

Post by dan_s »

This is why I have NMG on my Watch List. It is on track to become the largest graphite mine in North America.

From Zacks.com 1-25-2023
"Why Are Batteries Being Called the "New Oil"?

Here's something I'll bet you didn't know...

There's more graphite in each EV battery than any other material! Up to 220 pounds.

Demand is growing FAST! The fact that 13 battery "gigafactories" are being planned in the United States alone could cause a disruption along the supply chain.

It's a ticking time bomb for the U.S., which is 100% dependent on foreign imports of graphite...

If a domestic solution is not found, it could completely derail the nation's EV car plans. < MY TAKE: EV's as a percentage of total vehicles will not come close to some of the wild projections that I've seen just because of material shortages like this. That said, IMO the best way to invest in the "Energy Transition" is to invest in the companies that will be producing copper, graphite and lithium.

Solaris Resources (SLS.TO), Nouveau Monde Graphite (NMG) and Standard Lithium (SLI) all look promising to me.
