An interesting academic argument exists as to the viability to active versus passive stock portfolio management. As of July 1st the following real money active managed portfolios will be run against the major market indexes. The holdings of each portfolio are determined by quantitative analysis using factors that are generally present in stocks that subsequently outperform. At month end we will rebalance, as appropriate, according to the quantitative rankings at that time.
