Happy New Year!

Post by dan_s »

I hope you all had a safe evening last night. I'm excited about the progress we made in 2010 and I'm looking forward to getting off to a very strong start this year. Your support has made this possible and I appreciate it.

2010 was a good start the Energy Prospectus Group:
> We kicked off the EPG website in April, 2010.
> We now have 178 members with 18 joining in December.
> The Sweet 16 Growth Portfolio finished up over 70% for the year. Four companies were up over 100%.
> Kim continues to do a great job with the website and member services.
> Our two SMU interns, Matt & Kyle have been a HUGE help these last few months. Matt handles all the work on the MLP Watch List, including drafting the company profiles. Kyle has really cranked it up the last two months as he is drafting company profiles on our E&P Watch List companies. Both the E&P Watch List and our MLP Watch List are available on the website to Premium Members.

I have been going over all of the Sweet 16 company profiles and I have made a few changes to the portfolio. Premium Members can read my "Sweet 16 Detailed Update" which will be posted to the website on Monday afternoon. This is the most important document on the website for those invested in the S-16 companies. I update it every two weeks, the day before each newsletter comes out. Our first newsletter for 2011 goes out on January 4.

Our monthly luncheons are going to be great this year. If you live in the Houston area you should plan to attend. EPG luncheons are FREE for members. Non-members are welcome: $30 pre-paid or $40 at the door.
We kick off this year with Petrobank (PBG.TO) on January 20 at The Hess Club. PBG is one of my "Top Picks" for 2011.

One of our goals for 2011 is to build membership up to 250. You can help by telling all of your contacts about EPG. Feel free to forward copies of the newsletter. Anyone can sign up for the newsletter at the Home Page.
Thanks again for your support.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your support.

Our success is all about building EPG's membership. You can help us by signing your contacts up for the newsletter. Just go to the Home Page and enter the e-mail address of several contacts that you think would benefit from this group.

As our membership grows it becomes a lot easier to me to get companies to host our luncheons and agree to meet with me. I intend to expand the amount of companies we are covering this year. We added coverage on a select group of MLP's a few months ago. I want to build a Watch List for oilfield service companies this year. I have recently become quite bullish on the onshore drillers.

Dan -
Is there any progress on recording the lunchtime talks and posting them on the website? That would be a major bonus for those of us fortunate enough not to live in Houston, and surely would help increase EPG membership.

Happy New Year to you and your family,

Adam;

We were going to record our breakfast meeting with Newfield but we had some equipment problems. We will try again. There is also the issue of cost. Right now I'm making just over minimum wage on this gig!

We do have the ability to have an open chatroom on the website. Would you guys be interested in scheduling an open chat with me once a month just to focus on the Sweet 16 companies?

Great idea. You could give it a try and see how it works out.

I just finished the newsletter that goes out today. I will discuss the chatroom idea with Kim. She handles the "technical stuff".
