TransCanada Corp. (NYSE: TRP) plans to acquire Houston-based Columbia Pipeline Group Inc. (NYSE: CPGX) in a deal worth $13 billion, including the assumption of debt. The companies announced the deal on March 17, one week after reports surfaced that they were in talks. The boards of directors of both companies have now unanimously approved the deal.
