How much will "Green Energy" cost taxpayers?

Post by dan_s »

I think it is wonderful that we have multiple sources of energy. We are definitely going to need them all to bring a higher standard of living to most humans. Very soon we will have 8 Billion people on planet Earth and despite the pandemic, we are well on our way to 10 Billion people by 2030. What I don't think is "wonderful" is all the propaganda that hydrocarbon energy is BAD and wind & solar are GOOD. Forgetting the social issues and unnecessary FEAR created by those selling us the "Green New Deal", a valid questions that needs to be asked is "Can we really afford it"?

How long will the U.S. be able to run multi-$Trillion deficits? Who will keep buying U.S. debt?

There are going to be some big winners as a result of the push to green energy (which really isn't green but no one seems to care), so I'm looking out for small-caps that fill a need. We are definitely going to need a lot more power storage capacity.

Biden’s $1.9 trillion stimulus could preview energy package. President-elect Biden proposed a $1.9 trillion covid rescue package, which included vaccination efforts, $1,400 checks to Americans, and other stimulus measures. He has indicated that a sequel package in the spring, which could be even larger, would target major investments in clean energy.
