The current US Corona situation is that after daily infections peaked around mid-month August the number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 reached the high at the turn of the month. Since then the number has declined 14% as the weekly pace of declines accelerated to 8%. Because this data tends to be very persistent we are likely to see continued rapid improvement in the US Corona situation for an extended period of time.
The cases in Texas would be much lower if not for the steady stream of infected illegals coming into the state each day. Number of deaths from Covid in Texas over the last seven days is 48, which compares to an average of 350 per week in January, 2021.

Re: Covid Update from BofA Equity Research - Sept 21
Note from one of our very smart member in New York.
"It increasingly seems that the Covid story is one of a mild epidemic, grossly inflated for political reasons.
For instance, the inflation poster child is the NYT today headlines that the US Covid toll now exceeds that of the 1918 Spanish flu. Imho, that is actively misleading, the global Covid toll is under 5MM, a tenth or less that of the Spanish flu, which happened when the global population was a third of what it is now.
The 1918 flu really did show on global mortality rates, unlike Covid, which has about a 2.5% impact on global mortality, mostly premature death of the aged/fat/infirm. All that does not change the reality, there is no eradicating an extant virus, one can/must learn to live with it, as Sweden has, with no lockdowns. Why Australia and NZ have gone totalitarian instead is a mystery to me.."
MY TAKE: I am 67, so considered a member of the "At Risk Group". I personally fear Covid less than I fear a heart attack, stroke or cancer. I choose to not let FEAR keep me from travelling or taking away my liberty. At some point we will all die. I choose to live before that day arrives.
