Who will step up to stop the "Wacko Insanity"

First public global database of fossil fuels launches as UN holds climate talks. PBS News.
A first-of-its-kind database for tracking the world’s fossil fuel production, reserves and emissions launches on Monday to coincide with climate talks taking place at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Global Registry of Fossil Fuels includes data from over 50,000 oil, gas and coal fields in 89 countries. That covers 75% of global reserves, production and emissions, and is available for public use, a first for a collection of this size. Until now there has been private data available for purchase, and analysis of the world’s fossil fuel usage and reserves. The registry was developed by Carbon Tracker, a nonprofit think tank that researches the energy transition’s effect on financial markets, and the Global Energy Monitor, an organization that tracks a variety of energy projects around the globe.

Permitting overhaul in peril as funding deadline looms. E&E News.
The Democrats’ permitting overhaul plans hangs in the balance this week as lawmakers inch toward the Sept. 30 deadline to pass a government funding bill to prevent a shutdown. The final permitting plan has yet to be released, but progressives (Wackos) and many other Democrats continue to line up in opposition. They are under increasing pressure from environmental groups hoping to kill the bill’s momentum. Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), a prominent progressive, added his name to the list of opponents Friday, saying in a statement that while he may be open to the concept of permitting reform, he’s not ready to support including such legislation in a continuing resolution to fund the government past the Sept. 30 fiscal year deadline. But even as progressives have become more vocal about their unease with the permitting deal, they have yet to rule out additional reform measures moving later this year. But to get there, they want a seat at the negotiation table.

Tomlinson: Progressive Dems, environmentalists are about to blow Biden's progress on climate change. Houston Chronicle. Opinion.
Hardcore climate activists are mobilizing against Sen. Joe Manchin’s effort to reform the government permitting process for energy projects. Other activists oppose expanded mining for critical minerals and clean energy factories. By failing to compromise, leftist environmentalists are threatening to create the kind of political gridlock fossil fuel conservatives have used to stop clean energy development. Stopping transmission lines, pipelines, mining and manufacturing will not only hurt the climate but slow the economy and damage national security. Permitting reform in the face of climate change makes common sense. <Not to anyone with half a brain. Manchin wants the government to complete environmental reviews under the National Environmental Policy Act within two years. Today, there is no limit and permitting takes 4.5 years on average.

All of these idiots should be required to read Vaclav Smil's "How the World Works" - a fascinating science based book that debunks the possibility of transition in most of our life-times. Well worth a read (or listen - its on Audible) for anyone who wants a few facts to throw into a dinner party discussion if liberal friends are ranting about the transition !.

At today's luncheons I pointed out that it will take more than 5X more copper than the known copper reserves on Earth to be produced over the next 20 years for renewables to replace fossil fuels. Plus, the effort will bankrupt all of the OECD countries. China and India are not going to participate in anymore of the Paris Climate Accord nonsense.

The "Green Revolution" is a myth.
