For those of you that own Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. (NYSE: NMG), the note below was sent out by Zacks this morning:
Dear Investor,
If you've been looking at lithium investment opportunities, STOP!
Another metal is in such short supply...
Its deficit could derail the $7 trillion dollar electric vehicle revolution.
This metal is graphite.
Graphite accounts for over half of the mineral demand in EV batteries, the most of any.
By comparison, lithium accounts for only 4% of demand.
Here are just a few more graphite facts that could make commodity investors salivate:
> A White House report showed that graphite demand for clean energy applications will require 25X more graphite by 2040 than was produced in 2020
> Today, there are NO operating graphite mines in America! (Like lithium, we're at the mercy of China for our supply.)
> The U.S. government is injecting over $135 billion into producing critical metals such as graphite - and pushing battery makers to use raw materials from N. America.

Dud this technology or license come from James Tour of Rice University ?
James Tour has created graphene from almost anything even garbage at low costs, and with high volume.
I think the company name is Universal Matters

Graphite takes millions of years and extreme heat and pressure to create. So, some magic to make it out of garbage sounds like a dude to me.

This is a hot area and lithium batteries have several problems and everybody want them replaced.
I am not raining on the graphite parade but grapheme batteries could be a competitor, but who knows when. How the two would compare in cost and performance is a wild card.
Graphite batteries are a big improvement over Lithium batteries
I would guess they charge much faster and safer.
James Tour of Rice University in Houston… students have developed Grapheme from any carbon based material, including garbage if the moisture is less than 10 percent. This video id a list of grapheme projects that Tour and his students are working on.
It appears grapheme batteries are coming. The biggest problem with grapheme is the amount of grapheme that currently is being produced. Latter this summer a factory is being built to produce tons per day and that is sable.
If my URL doesn’t come through, Google James Tour and grapheme, a March dated video should be available.
