EIA - Natural Gas Storage Report - July 20

Post by dan_s »

Working gas in storage was 2,971 Bcf as of Friday, July 14, 2023, according to EIA estimates.
This represents a net increase of 41 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 575 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 360 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,611 Bcf.
At 2,971 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.

For the last 13 weeks (1/4 of a year), the total storage build have been just 37 Bcf over the 5-year average. Basically, supply & demand are back to being where they should be. That said, storage is likely to be at least 300 Bcf above the 5-year average when the winter of 2023/2024 begins.
