Refinery Fire: This will have a significant impact on diesel

The price of gasoline and diesel will be going up.

The fire at the Marathon Petroleum facility, the third largest in America, has been so devastating that officials say it will never reopen.

Are you sure about the facts on this fire. the picture reflects a massive fire at a couple of storage tanks. Though significant damage is possible, I would like to see some further corroboration of this reported incident being so extreme. Though of course under the current regulatory regime they be closed for the duration for safety training.

"Never going to open again" does sound like a stretch, but shut-down for a year might be likely due to all the safety inspections that will be required.

Seems like this would negatively impact producers; especially Marathon. After all, where is the oil supposed to go as refineries are already producing at max speed.
