Old Joe Biden back out, so what's next?

Post by dan_s »

President Joe Biden is ending his bid for reelection after a disastrous debate against Republican Donald Trump inflamed doubts about his fitness to serve another four years. So, why is he fit to remain in office when he can't complete a sentence?

The decision comes after escalating pressure from Biden’s Democratic allies to step aside following the June 27 debate, in which the 81-year-old president trailed off, often gave nonsensical answers and failed to call out the former president’s many falsehoods.

Biden announced his decision in a letter released on social media. He did not immediately endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as his successor. < Does anyone believe that Kamala is qualified to be Commander-in-Chief?

The president said he will address the American people later this week “in more detail about my decision.”

Biden plans to serve out the remainder of his term in office, which ends at noon on Jan. 20, 2025.

Trump will hammer Harris on this issue if she is the nominee. She's abrogated her only duty as a VP. Obama has not endorsed her and I don't suspect he will until Kamala kisses his ring. But hey, Democrats are saving Democracy.. As Bill Ackman said in a tweet, "If I was China right now, I'd invade Taiwan."
