Halcon
Halcon
I wanted to know if you have done any research or have information or an opinion on HK. A broker in east Texas has been pounding the table on this one saying that it will probably be bought out as Petrohawk (same CEO) was. As the stock continues to decline, all I hear from family and friends in Texas is all the big money investing in HK.
Re: Halcon
Shorts are increasing their presence in HK due to the elevated debt and ebbing ardor for the Utica/Pt. Pleasant play. They're a tough crowd to fight as evidenced by today's trading on positive news.

I have assigned Halcon to one of our interns and we will publish a profile + forecast model on it late in June.

I just wish I had more time to look closely at all of these small-caps.
For what its worth: My goal of getting our membership up to 500 is that at that level EPG will have enough revenue for me to high a part-time analyst. The interns are great but they are limited in what I can assign to them and the best interns get "real jobs" just about the time they get real good. In fact, I have two very good interns right now that graduated in May and will be leaving us soon.
Halcon will make it and they have a solid management team. Accumulate it on the dips and you will be fine. I do believe management wants to build the company for a sale in a couple years.

HK is plain and simple a bet on management.
Re: Halcon
Frank Lodinski, the former CEO of GeoResources (which sold out to Halcon) has formed a new team and it looks like he will go public with a new company soon. I really like Frank. He has been great at building companies for a sale.

Re: Halcon
If Frank goes public with a new company I am in. We owned more than 1% of GeoResources and Frank did us well. His backers have built and sold several companies over the years.
HK is a remnant of GeoResources, we will see. IR yesterday said they were producing 30,000 boed as I recall.
