Tullow Oil - TLW.L or TUWLF.PK

Dan:

I have a modest position in Tullow Oil based on their position in the Jubilee Field offshore Ghana and other exploration plays in or offshore Afrcia. Are you familiar with Tullow and, if so, what do think of them. Tullow seems like the type of company with big growth potential that could be a candidate for the Sweet 16.

What say you?

Oct. 7 (Bloomberg) -- Tullow Oil Plc and partners may double production at their Jubilee field off Ghana’s coast by 2015, said the head of country’s state-owned oil company.

The field, which will start production later this year, may pump 240,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day in 2014-2015, Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye, chief executive officer of Ghana National Petroleum Corp., said today in Moscow.

Tullow together with Anadarko Petroleum Corp., Kosmos Energy LLC and Ghana National Petroleum are investing about $3.35 billion to develop the Jubilee field. The first phase is expected to start pumping 120,000 barrels of oil a day in the first half of next year.

The partners are are designing phases 1a and 1b which together with phase 1 will target 500 million to 700 million barrels in estimated oil reserves, Tullow Chief Financial Officer Ian Springett said yesterday.
