This is interesting .... Doing some research before our luncheons this week.

POSCO (NYSE: PKX), with a market-cap of $27 Billion, has invested $18 million in Bearing Lithium's Maricunga lithium project in Chile.

The VP-Business Development for Bearing Lithium is speaking at our luncheons in Houston (2/27) and in Dallas (2/28).

I am super bullish on the power storage market / rechargeable batteries market. Demand for lithium and other metals used in power storage cells is going through the roof.
Countries that produce the world's lithium today:
37% from Chile
33% from Australia
11% from Argentina
10% from China
3.1% from Zimbabwe
2.6% from USA
3.3% from all other

Lithium prices have more than doubled since 2014
2017 prices per ton:
$8,000 to $12,000 for Lithium Carbonate
$12,000 to $16,500 for Lithium Hydroxide (used in Tesla cars)

From 2016 to 2020: Global lithium-ion battery production capacity will increase by 521% based on Megafactories that are already under construction. China will have the most capacity. Tesla's factory in Nevada will be the 2nd largest in the world.

Demand is not just for EVs: The power storage market for homes may end up being larger. I discussed this at length with Dan Blondal, CEO of Nano One Materials Corp. (NNOMF), which is one of my Top Picks in this space.
