Electric Vehicles: Here is the problem

"The energy density of gasoline is still >50x that of the best lithium-ion battery available today. Partially offsetting this is the greater efficiency of electric motors, which is about ~5x that of internal combustion engines. Still, that leaves an effective difference of a factor of 10x to be bridged. Without Moore's Law working for batteries, this will take some time." - Martijn Rats, CFA – Morgan Stanley 6-28-2018
I believe the "Power Storage" market is HUGE and there will eventually be a lot more EVs. However, there are still a lot of challenges including finding enough lithium and other rare materials to make all the rechargeable batteries that will be needed.
The quote above comes from a very well-written article on how much (actually how little) the growing EV market will impact demand for oil. If you'd like to see the full article, send me an email: dmsteffens@comcast.net
PS: I am extremely bullish on the Power Storage market.
