NFX, CXO and XEC

Post by dan_s »

These three companies are down YTD despite having solid earnings and operating cash flow locked in. All three will report production and proven reserve growth this year.

As the article points out, NFX is the real "head scratcher" since it is not impacted by the Permian Basin takeaway capacity issue. Newfield continues to report strong well results in STACK. Of the nine stocks in the Sweet 16 that are down, NFX is the only one that I cannot think of one reason for it to be down.

I will add that I have asked Newfield to speak at our Houston luncheons several times and they always have some BS excuse. Investor Relations departments that are not out constantly telling the company's story are not doing their job.

There is something to be said for not fighting the tape. I can think of one reason NFX has gone nowhere; the big guys don't want to own it. Occam's razor.

There seems to be some doubt among the Wall Street Gang about the STACK play. It is a relatively new oil play, but well results are quite good.
