Tropical Depression Eight is tracking through the Gulf of Mexico and could become a tropical storm before it slides inland over South Texas as the week comes to a close. The main threat from this system will be locally heavy rain, but there is also the potential for gusty winds, high surf and minor coastal flooding.

A tropical storm watch has been issued for much of the Texas coast from Port Mansfield to High Island, including Galveston and Corpus Christi. Tropical storm conditions are possible in this area by late Friday.

NEXT WEEK: Tropical Storm Gonzalo is expected to become the first hurricane of the 2020 Atlantic hurricane season, prompting hurricane watches in the Windward Islands, but its forecast remains a significant challenge with large uncertainty. Gonzalo is located several hundred miles east of the southern Windward Islands, moving west. A hurricane watch has been issued for Barbados and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, where hurricane conditions are possible Saturday.

If the weekly natural gas storage builds continue to be less than the 5-year average we should see $2.00 gas by early September and $2.50 by the end of November. Now is when you want do your due diligence on the gassers. Stick with companies that have a high percentage of their 2020 gas hedged a good prices.
