Working gas in storage was 3,332 Bcf as of Friday, August 7, 2020, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 58 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 608 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 443 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,889 Bcf.
At 3,332 Bcf, total working gas is above the five-year historical range.

Larger build than expected. Hurricane going up the East Coast reduced power demand.

Aegis Energy:
"EIA reported a build of 58 Bcf for the week ending 8/07/2020. This was larger than the median estimate of 56 Bcf. Today’s stat fell within the expected range, which was 65 Bcf on the more bearish end, and 42 Bcf on the more bullish end.

Prices were down in the five minutes following the announcement, to $2.163, from $2.173 just before 9:30am.

Inventories for the US are now at a surplus of 608 Bcf to last year and a surplus of 443 Bcf to the five-year average.

AEGIS notes that the larger build in storage can be attributed to weaker gas-fired power generation as Tropical Storm Isaias knocked out power for nearly four million people on the East Coast."
