EIA - Weekly Natural Gas Storage Report - Jan 22

Working gas in storage was 3,009 Bcf as of Friday, January 15, 2021, according to EIA estimates.
This represents a net decrease of 187 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 36 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 198 Bcf above the five-year average of 2,811 Bcf.
At 3,009 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
Colder weather next week should push ngas storage below where it was last year by the end of January. Much higher exports YOY are offsetting lower space heating demand. Just normal weather in Feb and Mar should push storage below 5-yr ave in April because exports should remain high thru Q2.
