EIA - Natural Gas Storage Report - Mar 4
Posted: Thu Mar 04, 2021 11:21 am
Working gas in storage was 1,845 Bcf as of Friday, February 26, 2021, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decrease of 98 Bcf from the previous week.
Stocks were 277 Bcf less than last year at this time and 178 Bcf below the five-year average of 2,023 Bcf.
At 1,845 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range.
98 Bcf draw is 23 Bcf higher than the 5-year average. Over the last five weeks, the draws have been a total of 424 Bcf more than the 5-year average.
I am sticking with my prediction that the amount of gas in storage will keep declining through April because of lower U.S. production and much higher exports and that we will reach April 30 with storage close to 500 Bcf below the 5-year average.
