From Energy Investor:
California is starting to encounter the pitfalls of its incredibly aggressive clean energy push — namely energy shortages.
According to Reuters, the Golden State may fall about 3,500 megawatts short of its expected peak usage in the next few weeks. For perspective, that's about 2.6 million households’ worth of electricity.
To make up the difference, California is considering taking a step backward and using industrial diesel generation. It's not ideal, but these last-resort measures will help stave off the worst of the energy shortages while our new clean infrastructure catches up.

Any state that moved too quickly to wind & solar for electricity will suffer regular power outages. Texas also has this problem, as we discovered in February.
