Questerre Energy, an energy and innovation company of oil and gas, reported that the Government of Quebec passed Bill 21, which Questerre Energy cited as "An Act mainly to end petroleum exploration and production and the public financing of those activities."

The law will now seek to revoke and cancel all lease agreements entered by the Province of Quebec after requiring Questerre to invest substantial cash into exploration for natural gas within the province right up until discovery.
