Is there only one smart Democrat?

Post by dan_s »

Manchin signals he won’t support Biden nominee, citing climate policy. Politico.
Sen. Joe Manchin on Friday in a scathing release indicated he would not support President Joe Biden’s nominee to a top Interior Department position — the latest flare up in the rocky relationship between the administration and the coal-state lawmaker over climate policy. Manchin, the West Virginia Democrat who chairs the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee in charge of clearing Biden’s nominees to Interior, signaled he would not support the nomination of Laura Daniel-Davis as Interior’s assistant secretary for lands and minerals management. He cited as a factor an internal department memo he said showed the administration cared more about climate change than U.S. oil production. “If this is what this Administration truly believes and is how they are going to make decisions, it is unacceptable,” Manchin said in his statement. “It’s a clear and intentional threat to energy security and the all-of-the above energy policy Congress has consistently reinforced. I will not support anyone who agrees with this type of misguided reasoning.”

This country MUST ADOPT A COMMON SENSE ENERGY POLICY or we will go down in history as the gang that destroyed the American standard of living.

Some think Manchin is posturing for a Presidential run. That would be a welcome entry into the Dem mix. He must have sized up the competition: Beijing Joe, Pothole Pete, Kamala, etc. must be a tough guy to compete with those geniuses.

I don't see how Manchin can stand being in the Democratic Party, which the Wackos now control. If he does run for president, we might actually have a chance at some common sense debate on important issues.

My family was hardcore Democrats until ~20 years ago. It is sad to see how far left they have become.
