Why did STR zoom way up after the market closed Thursday---
Is there some big takeover offer and everybody but me knows about it?

After hours trading can be misleading.
Most of the time big moves on low volume are caused by someone putting in a relatively large buy or sell order "At the Market".
There's nothing I see that indicates a sale of the company is in the works.
