Cash prices were extremely low this past week in the Permian, with the outright price at Waha averaging only $0.06/MMBtu throughout the week according to data from Natural Gas Intelligence (NGI). This includes a negative price on March 6, the day of the outage on Permian Highway. We can see the precarious nature of prices in the supply basin during this warm winter. Even a relatively minor outage is sufficient to push prices into negative territory.
