Jerry Jones and affiliated companies have reported significant open market buys this month. Hope this is a good sign. I would feel a lot better if it was Warren Buffet buying.

Jones has reported purchases every day for the last 10 days of approximately 8mm shares. These purchases have clearly been the reason for the uptick in recent share prices as first shares were bought at $8.16 on 8/5 and at $10.56 on 8/15.

CRK is HIGH RISK because it is a pure play on natural gas with a very low volume of NGLs.
Jerry Jones' large equity stake CRK is a BIG PLUS, because he is clearly committed to support the stock and he is long-term bullish on natural gas. Jerry has very deep pockets.
I don't own CRK and I am not recommending it. It is only for those of you that believe natural gas price will move much higher soon. If so, I think there are other gassers that are safer bets (EQT, RRC and CTRA).

Currently holds 73% of shares. Wonder if he will take it private like Hamm did with Continental.

Comstock shorts should factor in potential of Jones go-private bid, says KeyBanc

KeyBanc analyst Tim Rezvan points out similarities between Continental Resources, which was taken private in 2022 by majority shareholder Harold Hamm, and Comstock Resources, which is majority owned by Jerry Jones. While the firm “can’t speak to Mr. Jones’s inclination to follow suit,” it notes that the Dallas Cowboys were recently valued at $11B by CNBC and sees the Cowboys, and the NFL soon allowing minority private equity investments in teams, as “a significant funding lever” that could fund the purchase of the remaining $851M of Comstock shares trading in the market. The firm keeps a Sector Weight rating on Comstock shares, but believes that investors who are short the stock “should factor in a potential short squeeze if the Jones family goes all in and takes Comstock private.”
