Hemisphere reported a big production increase in Q2 without completing any new wells. That proves that the Atlee Buffalo polymer floods are exceeding expectations.

Watch presentation at the link above.
HMENF is trading at $1.35US. < My current valuation is $3.50US and my 2025 forecast is probably too conservative.
Hemisphere is a pure play on oil.

I loved this presentation, typical low key Canadian oil field types. I worked with many of them over the last 54 years!!

I fully agree with Dan that Hemisphere looks like a great investment.
I have worked before on alkaline polymer floods like the one Hemisphere is implementing at Buffalo Atlee.
Polymer floods are not easy:
- Selection and control of polymer weight distribution are crucial.
- A polymer can be become unstable, breaking down its 10-20 M MW chains, both in the tanks as well as the reservoir. Some form of stabilization is required.
- A too high molecular weight of the polymer will cause shearing of the polymer in the reservoir.
- If the molecular weight is not matched properly with the permeability of the reservoir, dramatical reduction of polymer performance is possible.
- A too low a molecular weight will require excessive polymer quantities.
- Over-injection can lead to early polymer breakthrough and reduced benefits.
Hemisphere seems to be on top of all of these aspects at Buffalo Atlee. This gives me confidence they can do the same at Marsden.
Polymer on top of higher earl production can have additional benefits as it can increase the recovery factor of the oil from the reservoir. We will have to wait for the March 2025 annual information form to see if this is the case.
