Big spike in demand for W. Canada Natural Gas soon

Post by dan_s »

LNG Canada, a 2.0 bcf/d LNG export facility (Phase 1), is one of Canada's largest
energy investments and is a joint venture of Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina,
Mitsubishi Corporation, and KOGAS. It is expected to begin ramping up in
June, 2025.

The LNG Canada project is in final commissioning phase with cooldown
operations currently underway and the Coastal GasLink pipeline is complete.
Discussions for Phase II continue, which could double export capacity from
2 bcf/d to 4 bcf/d.

Currently under construction is Woodfibre LNG, near Squamish, B.C., a 0.3
bcf/d LNG export facility and Cedar LNG, near Kitimat B.C., a 0.4 bcf/d LNG
export facility. Ksi Lisims LNG is another 1.7 bcf/d LNG export facility seeking
final investment approval in 2025.
