Where will the S&P 500 Index be at the end of 2027?

At the link below Jim Puplava interviews Craig Johnson, Chief Technical Analyst at Piper Sandler, about the market’s future. With the S&P 500 nearing Johnson’s “bullseye” target and investors hungry for more double-digit returns, Johnson offers a sobering forecast: expect just a modest 5–6% gain next year. He explains why sky-high valuations, especially among tech giants like Nvidia, may not be sustainable and predicts a shift from growth to value stocks.

My notes:
> Craig's forecast is that the S&P 500 Index will be ~7,150 at end of 2026. < 5.25% higher than where it is trading this morning.
> Mag-7 stocks are overvalued and will be the "Lag-7" in 2026.
> Energy and Basic Materials (less than 7% of the S&P 500 Index) are undervalued.
> Craig Johnson tells investors to rotate from Growth to Value.
> Gold and Silver have rallied first, Oil prices should rally soon.
> U.S. Debt is too high and cannot keep going up by $2 Trillion per year. This will become a "Front Burner" issue during an election year.

> Bottomline: The market needs to rotate from Tech to undervalued stocks that hold real assets. Jim and Craig agree that value stocks the pay dividends are the best bet in 2027. Our High Yield Income Portfolio has a dividend yield over 7% today and several of them should be raising dividends in 2027.
