Barron's energy panel hasn't lost its appetite for MLPs • 10:24 AM
A Barron's energy panel remains mostly bullish on MLPs, summed up by Tortoise Capital's James Mick: "With increasing demand we should see more volume through the pipelines, which means increased revenue for MLPs."
The panelists tend to prefer established players with sound management a history of increasing distributions: ACMP, EMES, EPD, MMP, SXL.
Higher interest rates will be a headwind, but Yorkville's James Hug points out that MLPs performed well in five of six periods in the past 20 years when rates rose; "an improving economy will mean more projects."
