The blockade of oil export terminals in eastern Libya that has brought the country's oil industry to a near complete halt is to be lifted on Sunday, allowing for exports to resume, a tribal chief said Tuesday.
The key ports of Es Sider, Ras Lanuf, Marsa el-Hariga and Zueitina have been closed since the summer after militia blockaded the terminals, demanding more autonomy for the eastern Cyrenaica region.
"We expect that the export of crude from the oil terminals will resume from December 15," Saleh al-Ateiwich, head of the powerful Al-Magharba tribe, was quoted as saying by French news agency AFP
