HDY & a new field off Guinea

Post by k1f »

Hyperdynamic stirred some attention and mkt enthusiasm with its news of prospective turf off Guinea (77% interest):

Stock has shown considerable vigor since. Early days yet, with the usual epic money-raising hurdles ahead, but a situation that might remind you of the old Atlas days, which ended (ahem) happily for all.

I'm glad you posted this. I was in HDY's office a couple weeks ago urging them to host one of our luncheons. The company is a "One Trick Pony" but it has incredible upside.

Either somebody's privy to some very pretty seismic pictures or mo-mo money is going bonkers over HDY's prospects: up 25% today.
With such a long timeline for actual development, I'm a little faked out by this furious romance so early on. - Not that I'm complaining, mind you. If there's another Atlas growing, I'd expect an early attempt at a buyout, wouldn't you?

I have a full pos, suspect current euphoria related to:
1. JV partner(s) announcement needs to happen soon so HDY has funds in place to begin drilling (maybe sooner than announced). There is talk of drilling to start as soon as June-July.
2. Good 3d seismic results beginning to leak out or anticipated.
Pretty good discussion here: http://www.investorvillage.com/groups.asp?mb=10989&pt=m
