Continental Resources (CLR): An updated profile and forecast model have been posted under the Sweet 16 Tab.
My Fair Value Estimate for CLR has increased $13.50 since the profile we published back in May. CLR is up 248% since I added it to the Sweet 16 back on October 1, 2010. It is getting close to my Fair Value Estimate of $167.30, but that is no reason to sell it. I think there is a good chance that CLR goes up 30% to 40% year-after-year. They certainly have one of the clearest paths to growth within the Sweet 16.
My Fair Value Estimate is what I think the stock is worth today. It is my guess at what the break-up value of the company is right now. As a going concern the company has a lot more upside. The down-spacing program they started up in the Bakken/Three Forks and the great results they are getting with extended reach horizontal wells is making all of our Bakken companies more valuable to own. These programs are increasing the recoverable oil & gas per acre across the entire play.
I will say that I think OAS and WLL are better buys today.
