There is a good article today on SA regarding memp, and its terrific hedge book. It also mentions that there is a good chance that it may cut its distribution once again. So, the big question is when on earth is oil going to bottom, and is it time to buy memp given that the may cut distributions?

Surely if you want to buy MEMP it would be a good idea to wait unti after they cut the distribution.

I don't think it can get priced much lower. I don't think anyone believes a yield like this will last. On the other hand, I suppose there is no hurry to buy.

if vnr is any indicator, note that it did not chg appreciably when they last cut dividend. hence, the cut is priced in.

All of the MLPs will benefit from any increase in natural gas prices.
MEMP and VNR both have a lot of their 2016 production hedged at very good prices. They will both survive unless oil & gas prices stay low for several years.
