When the price of oil is down, everything is red. When the price of oil is up, everything is green.

SM Energy Company (SM) is scheduled to release fourth quarter and full year 2015 earnings and operating results after the close of trading on February 23, 2016. The Company will host a conference call and webcast to discuss results on February 24, 2016, at 8:00 a.m. Mountain time (10:00 a.m. Eastern time). The live and archived webcast, as well as the associated presentation, will be available on the Company’s website at www.sm-energy.com.

You should listen to the SM conference call and follow along on the slides.

Thx. I get that, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason for particular moves, such as the last few days for sm...unless smarter money than ours knows something we do not. I have also noticed that, in general, many of the ones we follow go down more than oil on a down day, but not up as much on an up day. Just mystifying to me.

GST preferred question. Could the company buy back any preferred shares on the open market if they had any spare cash. If they could would not that reduce their monthly outlay on their dividend requirements.

me too---one thing that adds to this is the high beta that sm has, something I have never understood. I agree with dan--sm needs to do more selling of their story
